Day 3
Got up early to workout at the Spa. Edwina came along. She had the pool to herself. I decided to walk around. Although it was a chilly morning, it was very surreal. I began to ponder how far I have came...since the last time here in 1986. I then became excited to try and incorporate a bowed left wrist. Instead of attending the first part of lecture, got to #8 early. After hitting some balls, the bowed left wrist worked. Later during the round, I played very well...although my score was no indication. I shot 100. But, it was on course #8...the Centennial course. It was very tough. Although it didn't have the fast, crowned greens of #2, there was more trouble that required precision from tee to green. Played with an oral surgeon...Neil of Annapolis. Grahmn...an Englishman who spoke with pretty cool words like "dreadful". My knee started to feel better. Had dinner at Pinecrest. The porkchop was awesome...the pecan pie very memorable. Later, my sense of detecting the historic golfing aura was confirmed. We are staying in the same room Arnold Palmer stays in everytime he is in Pinehurst. I'm sleeping in the same bed as Arnold Palmer...the King!!! Wow. I am truly blessed. Thank you Lord.
