TYPHOON UNDOY

The storm hit the PI last week. It came when Roy..and Gil were there. Steph had to cancel her show. The timing of the storm was impeccable. Here's a video done by KT to show the horrific aftermath.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM

I dedicated this route to Mom. It starts from our hotel, The Manor, where the King himself, Arnold Palmer stays...to Payne Stewarts statue...at Hole #18 on Course #2...to the Hotel Carolina...the Spa...and back to the Manor. In essence, it starts from one championship golfer to another. This loop I dedicate to the champion of all champs...my mom. Happy Birtday Mom!!! Miss you...Love you.

Day 3

Got up early to workout at the Spa. Edwina came along. She had the pool to herself. I decided to walk around. Although it was a chilly morning, it was very surreal. I began to ponder how far I have came...since the last time here in 1986. I then became excited to try and incorporate a bowed left wrist. Instead of attending the first part of lecture, got to #8 early. After hitting some balls, the bowed left wrist worked. Later during the round, I played very well...although my score was no indication. I shot 100. But, it was on course #8...the Centennial course. It was very tough. Although it didn't have the fast, crowned greens of #2, there was more trouble that required precision from tee to green. Played with an oral surgeon...Neil of Annapolis. Grahmn...an Englishman who spoke with pretty cool words like "dreadful". My knee started to feel better. Had dinner at Pinecrest. The porkchop was awesome...the pecan pie very memorable. Later, my sense of detecting the historic golfing aura was confirmed. We are staying in the same room Arnold Palmer stays in everytime he is in Pinehurst. I'm sleeping in the same bed as Arnold Palmer...the King!!! Wow. I am truly blessed. Thank you Lord.

Pinehurst Day 2

Am drawn to the historic golfing aura this golfing mecca possesses. We are staying at The Manor...room 413. It turns out to be a cozy, quaint suite. The place was built in 1923. It was recently rennovated. Our class is held in the clubhouse...the St. Andrews room. Shuttle service is very good. Don't need to drive your car. There are no corporate restuarants, i.e., McDonalds, Wendys, or even chinese or mexican restaurants. Ate at the Tavern at the Holly hotel. Food was good. Played historic #2. Had 10s on all the par 5s. All the walking did not help my aching knee. I was really hooking the ball badly...no real sense of rythmn all day. I did hit a well struck 7 iron to one foot on #2. Tap in birdie. Played with "Ski" and Jordan Shafer of Bayview...and Dave from Rochester. He is an older periodontis. Had a terrific time along with a horrific score.
