Leezel Tanglao

She took the train from Washinton DC. Her east coast tour started in NYC on Monday...then Philly...Washington DC...and here. I picked her up in Norfolk after getting off of work at 12:30PM. Took her to the MacArthur Memorial. Had lunch at Bubbas. Had the softshell crab...while she indulged in the crabcake sandwich. The next day...Saturday...went to the FIND D7 meeting at noon at ODU. The kids were kinda sterile...but good to see Roberto...Khloe...and Micah. Lunch at Baker's Crust. That evening, dinner at Yukai. Her flight was cancelled...so Ray took her to Richmond around midnight. It was a quick stop...but she is quite an energetic lady. We all had a wonderful time being out of the box. Life is grand!!!

Toyota RAV

Got to the AAA car center around 11:15AM...right after work. They have a real nice waiting area that included satellite TV and internet. The weather got really stormy with a lot of thunderstorms rolling in and out. I waited for an hour and a half before Ramon, another young black from Cleveland, picked me up. We got to Toyota. Connie the lady set me up with a rental car. Decided on a silver RAV sports utility vehicle.

Arrived at the PCC for the Mrs. Philippines pagent at 7PM. The parking lot was at 90% capacity. It was surprising to see a tremendous turnout. We sat with Uncle Romy, the chair of Friendship Day picnic whose name escapes me,,,,and some white dude married to last year's Mrs. Luzon. The food was prepared by the restaurant that the Parrilla's sold. The beef and broccoli was excellent. Will have to keep that in mind for Symposium.

Line dancing has definitely given a new activity for the senior citizen crowd...which happens to include Edwina and I. I must admit it is very entertaining to check out how a lot of the sistahs have aged. Some very well..but most..very bad. Based off our changed eating habits, I believe Edwina and I have turned the corner to live the rest of our lives in making healthier choices. Thank you Lord for giving us this golden opportunity.

The only regret was to not take a picture with Rene Cruz. It would've been an excellent after shot...with the before picture taken last winter.

Don't know who won because they were still line dancing as we left. Had a great time.

MY CAMRY DIED

After hitting balls at Owl's Creek, I just got off the Birdneck entrance onto 264, when my car acted up. I saw the oil light flash. I felt the car struggle to get any speed. Flashes of my Nova's engine burning up because I kept trying to keep it going caused me to immediately stop. Luckily, I had my AAA card with me. I was picked up within 1/2 an hour. The driver, a young black dude named Wadell from NYC, talked me into bringing the car into AAA instead of Toyota Dealship. I complied, thinking it would not as expensive. By 5PM, they still didn't know what was wrong with my car. At 6PM, I called back. Erick tells me the car is running fine. What??? That ain't right. Called Veeno later. He told me to take it to the dealership. The car should be able to go past 200,000 miles. I think I'll do that.

SONY 52INCH BRAVIA

Our Sony 32 inch TV for 12 years blew up while watching the UW ladies softball game, who claimed the National title a few days later. On my birthday, we decided to go TV hunting after a morning class in Quickbooks. At Sears, we were helped by an energetic Pinay...Norma Bess. On Thursday, 6/4, we bought the 52 inch Bravia. Friday, 6/5, it was installed by a lovely couple, John and Rita Simmerman of JDC Customs Inc. 420-6389. Needless to say, this was one of my best birtday presents ever. Life is very, very good. Thank you, thank you.
